Mission Statement

Evergreen Mills' mission is to manufacture and market consistent, research proven, quality products that provide superior value to our customers and ensure the financial success of our company.

A Strong Tradition, Growing With You

Evergreen Mills is an animal feed manufacturer headquartered in Ada, OK. We market animal feed products through local "feed" dealerships located across the Southwestern states. Our products include feeds or foods for swine, beef, dairy, horses, poultry, sheep, goats and pets.

Evergreen believes in research and development of new and existing products. We have a 650-acre Product Development Center located near Muscatine, IA. At this facility, feeding trials are conducted to evaluate feed ingredients and new feed formulations. Continued research and development of feeds and feeding programs allows the livestock producer to obtain maximum return on their investment. Only after a product has been thoroughly tested at this facility does it receive the Evergreen label and the Evergreen guarantee of product satisfaction.

Company History

The Evergreen Mills story began in 1902 when R. W. Allen built a corn meal mill in Ada, Oklahoma. In 1907, Mr. Allen sold the mill to Shawnee Milling Company of Shawnee, Oklahoma, who then turned it into a flour milling operation. In 1920, the mill was sold again and incorporated as Ada Milling Company. Then in 1954, Ada Milling Company changed its name to Evergreen Mills, Inc., and discontinued flour manufacturing to devote their efforts to the feed industry.

Evergreen Mills continued to flourish. In 1969, they purchased Schroeder Milling Company of El Reno, Oklahoma, and converted the flour mill to a feed mill to better serve the feed needs of the western half of Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle.

Then in 1983, Evergreen Mills was acquired by Kent Feeds, Inc., located in Muscatine, Iowa, and has since become a division of Kent Feeds. In 2000, when a fire destroyed the original production plant in Ada, Oklahoma, Evergreen Mills purchased a feed manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, which began operating in 2001.

Evergreen’s feed manufacturing facility in El Reno, Oklahoma continues to manufacture and market an extensive line of animal feeds and animal care products through a network of independent dealers in Southern Kansas, Southeastern Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. Being a division of Kent Feeds, Inc., has allowed Evergreen to cross market Kent Feeds products, increasing their product offering to a growing market of customers. Together, Kent Feeds, Inc. and Evergreen Mills operate several manufacturing facilities throughout the Midwest and Southwest.

The Kent / Evergreen Connection

Did you know...
Evergreen Mills is a division of Kent Feeds, Inc.?

As an Evergreen customer, you may have wondered why Evergreen stocks and sells Kent Feeds branded products. The answer is that Kent Feeds and Evergreen Mills have been a part of the same company for over 25 years! Since this might be new to some of you, we thought it might be helpful to give you a little history on Kent Feeds.

Who is Kent Feeds?
The Kent Feeds story began in 1927 in the central Iowa farming community of Indianola. It was there that Gage Kent started manufacturing Kent Baby Beef™, the original “Feed Without A Filler.” Kent’s feed mill flourished in Indianola, and in 1936, he moved his steadily-growing company to Muscatine, Iowa, to take advantage of economical Mississippi River transportation.

Kent Feeds acquired Evergreen Mills in 1983 and Blue Seal Feeds in 1988 and later organized the three feed companies into The Kent Group. The Kent Group companies are long time industry leaders in providing superior nutrition for both commercial and companion animals. Now more than 82 years strong, Kent Feeds remains a thriving family enterprise with a firm belief in building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
